Ms Dian Zhuang
Biography
Dian graduated from the Bachelor of Optometry with Honours at the University of Auckland in 2018 and is pursuing her PhD in ophthalmology in 2021. Two years' working experience in optometry clinics inspired her to continue her research in public eye health. She is also working as a part-time optometrist along with her PhD study.
Research | Current
Dian's current research investigates the inflammasomes as potential modifiable markers of dry eye disease which is one of the most common patient complaints during eye examinations. The results may suggest the possibility for inflammasomes to be used as therapeutic target in dry eye diseases.
