Miss Jiye Hong
Jiye is a doctoral candidate in ALSL at the University of Auckland. She received her BA in English literature and MEd in English education in Korea. She had taught English as a second language at high schools in Korea for six years and had worked at the governmental research institute, Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE), as a research assistant. Her PhD research focuses on EMI in secondary and higher education in Korea. She is particularly interested in schools’ and teachers’ intervention/attention (planned or unplanned) to support students’ learning of disciplinary language in EMI settings.
