While born and raised in Pori (Finland), I received the degrees of B.Sc, M.Sc. and D.Sc. (physics) from the Tampere University of Technology in March 2009, November 2009 and January 2012, respectively. In January 2012 I was hired as a post-doctoral research fellow at The University of Auckland (New Zealand). I was promoted to a Lecturer in February 2014, and senior lecturer in February 2017.

My research involves various themes in ultrafast and nonlinear optics, with particular focus in guided wave geometries. Specific topics include soliton dynamics, parametric processes, supercontinuum generation, passive resonators and mode-locked lasers.
