Dr Sam Phillip Richardson
Biography
Sam graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2013 with a Master of Engineering specialising in Biomedical Engineering. For his masters thesis he used polarisation sensitive optical coherence tomography to image bovine articular cartilage. He then began studying for a PhD in with the Auckland Bioengineering Institute in late 2013.

Thesis
Development of an optical coherence tomography based skin cancer diagnostic tool
Sam works in the soft tissue group where his doctoral research focuses on the development and application of optical techniques. Specifically, the development of an optical coherence tomography based skin cancer diagnostic device which will combine aspects of laser speckle imaging.
