Associate Professor Shane Lindsay Scahill

BPharm, MMgt, PhD

I have worked in the sectors of hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy and for the last ten years as a Clinical Advisory Pharmacist within a Primary Health Organisation (PHO). Over the past four years I have become more involved in education and research and in 2007 began part-time PhD studies looking at the nature of the relationship between organisational culture and effectiveness within a selection of community pharmacies. In March 2008 I accepted the Auckland University Senior Health Research Scholarship and switched to full-time PhD study. I am an Associate Editor of Southern Med Review a peer review journal with a focus on research into medicines use and access research around the world, but particularly within countries with developing health systems.

Outside of research I enjoy mountain running, my three boys and holidaying on islands in the Auckland Hauraki Gulf as well as in the Northern Coromandel.
