Mrs Stephanie Joy Yee
BPharm PGDipComm MPS MPSNZ
I am a New Zealand registered pharmacist, active in professional practice, since graduating from Otago University in 1992. I have done postgraduate studies in business and communications.
Over my career I have had the privilege of enjoying an incredibly wide scope of pharmacy practice within New Zealand and overseas including clinical trials, medical information, management of professional services across 80 pharmacies nationwide and extensive work in community and hospital pharmacy settings.
I have been employed at the School of Pharmacy at the University of Auckland since 2000.
In my current role as a Professional Teaching Fellow at the School of Pharmacy I am a member of the Pharmacy Placements Team that supports BPharm undergraduates in their experiential learning. This consists of five modules throughout their degree in a variety of settings. I lead two of these modules annually in addition to supporting the Clinical and Professional Skills team with their dispensing labs, primary care workshops and OSCEs.

Areas of expertise
I possess a unique combination of being an active practising pharmacist with postgraduate qualifications in business, communications and public relations. This is invaluable when managing external stakeholder relationships and preparing students for an environment with an additional commercial focus.
My approach to teaching and learning is to optimise learner knowledge transfer into pharmacy practice. As such, I consistently provide pharmacy students with relevant examples of application of curriculum content to current pharmacy practice, effectively being a bridge between knowledge and practice.
