Dr Andrea Jane Braakhuis

I am a Registered Dietitian with research expertise in the effects of dietary bioactives for clinical benefit and adaptation of human performance.
My doctoral degree investigated the effect of dietary antioxidants and their impact on health and athletic performance. I previously worked as a registered practising dietitian in Australia, the United States and New Zealand. Since 2012 I have been employed at The University of Auckland as an academic within the Nutrition & Dietetics team in the Faculty of Medical Health Science.  I am an Associate Editor for the ‘Nutrition & Dietetics’ journal, which is Australia and New Zealand’s leading peer-reviewed journal in its field. I now combine clinical expertise with applied nutrition research.
