Dr Alexandre Dmitriev

Alexandre joined the Department of Economics at the University of Auckland in January 2016. Prior to this, he held positions as a lecturer at the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia) and a senior lecturer at the University of Tasmania (Australia). Alexandre studied Economics in Stockholm, Uppsala and Barcelona and received his PhD in Economics in 2007 from Universistat Autònoma de Barcelona. His research focuses on Open-economy Macroeconomics, International Finance and Computational Economics.

  • Cross-country transmission of macroeconomic disturbances
  • International capital flows and risk of sovereign default
  • Application of computationally intensive estimation methods to macroeconomics
