At the tender age of nine, devastated by the realisation that she would never attain her dream job as Queen Regnant of Scotland, Carly thought she might join the all girl rock band The Runaways. Following the sobering discovery that they broke up many years before she was born, she decided to pursue a career in dance instead. This worked out for a while, but all good things come to a back injury end. She is now a PhD candidate at the University of Auckland studying political psychology with an emphasis on people's perceptions of inequality (economic, ethnic group-based, gender, sexual orientation) and how this imapcts their inclination to partake in collective action. She is also extremely passionate about environmental sustainability and is interested in those factors which encourage action taking and protest behaviours in this area. She also got her pen license on the FIRST try (Age 6). It was never revoked... so...
