Research | Current

My current research is the development of a device for the direct capture of circulating tumour cell DNA in blood stream. This project involves the surface modifcation and subsequent functionalisation to achieve a material that is biocompatible, anti-fouling and provide a handle towards the capture of ctDNA. 

 

Past Projects include:

  • The development of handheld DNA sensor
  • The synthesis and functionalsation of novel, processable polythiophene and polypyrrole derivatives
  • The synthesis and fabrication of electrospun fibremats embedded with bioactive molecules and conducting polymers
  • The synthetic studies towards the total synthesis of trikentramine
