Erica Lee
BA(Hons) Auck., MA Auck.
Biography
이혜지 LEE, HYE JI / ɰi.ɦje.ʣ̥ʲi / [-ee.heji]
As in many traditions around the world, I go by various names. Interpersonally known as Erica, I am an early career academic teaching and researching in Sociology, involved in a number of projects beyond my discipline.
My principle area of interest is in race and decoloniality, employing a wide range of theoretical tools including Marxist thought, psychoanalysis, phenomenology and more broadly, the 'Critical Theory' strand of European thought. I am currently exploring Eastern epistemologies, namely, 한국사상 (Korean Thought).
Beyond academia, my writing can be found in media publications such as RNZ and The Spinoff.
I am currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand).
