Dr Hui Zhou

Ph.D. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)


Hui Zhou received her Ph.D. in Accountancy from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011. Before joining the University of Auckland in 2019, she was an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Melbourne Business School.  Hui’s current research agenda covers three areas: the intersection of accounting and corporate governance, the role of accounting information in capital markets, and stakeholder accounting. Her research has been published in leading academic journals including Accounting, Organizations & Society, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, and Review of Accounting Studies. Hui has received multiple competitive grants and research awards, including the 2018 Dean’s Award for Exceptional Distinction in Research from the Faculty of Business & Economics at the University of Melbourne. She has taught in the MBA, EMBA, and Professional Master's programs at Melbourne Business School and University of Auckland Business School.  In addition to her academic credentials, Hui also holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
