Biography

Master in Primatology at the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain (2007-2009). Graduated in Biological Sciences in the Minas Gerais Federal University (UFMG), Brazil (2006).  Since 2007 holds the position of Environmental Analyst in the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), a Brazilian federal agency for endangered species and protected areas. As Deputy Coordinator of Analysis and Prediction of Biodiversity (COAPRO) at ICMBio’s headquarters (2009- 2011), performed several analysis related to the use of scientific tools for biodiversity conservation planning. From 2011 to 2014 was the research coordinator in the Serra do Cipó National Park, working on the integration among park management and researchers, public use as a tool for environmental awareness and management of protected areas. Currently PhD candidate at University of Auckland, New Zealand, conducts studies on the effectiveness of passive acoustic techniques for biodiversity monitoring in protected areas.

Conducts his PhD research on the effectiveness of passive acoustic techniques for biodiversity monitoring in protected areas. Project Title: Listening to Nature - A passive acoustic approach for protected areas monitoring and biodiversity assessment.
