Jazmin has a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Global Epidemiology from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta USA. Jazmin currently works as an Associate at Abt Associates supervising diverse projects in the Division of Health and Environment. Jazmin worked for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in various Fellow and Contractor roles for 14 years. She was a member of the New Zealand Southern Hemisphere Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness, Research and Surveillance (SHIVERS) team during the 7 years she worked for the International Epidemiology and Research Team, Influenza Division, CDC. 

Research | Current

Jazmin's experience is mostly in infectious disease surveillance and research (study design, protocol writing, ethical approval, data collection and analysis, literature reviews, writing/publication of scientific abstracts and manuscripts).  She first worked in the investigation and characterization of foodborne disease outbreaks and then spent some years working on rotavirus illness prevention. Most of Jazmin's publications focus on influenza risk factors and burden of disease. Her doctoral dissertation explores the effects of maternal acute respiratory illness, including flu infection, on birth, neonatal and child developmental outcomes in New Zealand.
