Matthew's PhD research has focused on biophysical studies to elucidate the structure-reactivity relationships of tumour-inhibiting metal complexes. To help understand these a number of biophysical methods were employed these include protein crystallography, electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
