Research | Current

My research involves the synthesis of polycrystalline and single crystal complex transition metal oxides using classical solid state methods.  X-ray and Neutron diffraction experiments are used to solve the crystal and magnetic structures along with other complimentary techniques like X-ray absorption spectroscopy, electron microscopy, magnetic susceptibility and impedance spectroscopy just to name a few.

Ternary copper based bixbyites are of particular interest exhibiting a large degree of structural disorder and interesting frustrated -1/2 spin driven magnetic structures.
