Biography
I am an Emeritus Professor in Population Health and Social Science and an Honorary Professor in the Department of Statistics at The University of Auckland.
In 2017 I completed a two-year James Cook Fellowship funded by the Royal Society of New Zealand. The results of this work are soon to be published by Springer in a mongraph co-authored with Roy Lay-Yee.
I was founding director of the COMPASS (Centre of Methods and Policy Application in the Social Sciences) Research Centre and held cross-appointments in the Department of Statistics and in the School of Population Health from the time of my appointment as Professor of the Sociology of Health and Well-being in 2004 until my retirement in 2017.
