Dr Stacey Allan Reading
Biography
I recieved my undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph, Canada before completing an MSc and PhD in Cardiovascular Physiology with Dr Jack Barclay at the same university. I held postdoctoral research appointments in Cerebrovascular Physiology in the College of Medicine at the University of Vermont before joining the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. In 2014, I relocated to Auckland New Zealand with my family to join the Exercise Sciences Department at the University of Auckland. I am currently the Academic Program Director for Clinical Exercise Physiology and a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Sciences.

My research interests are focused on the use of prescriptive exercise in children and adults to prevent, delay and treat chronic illness. My work aims to identify the most appropriate training stimuli that produce specific adaptations (e.g., training response) in the cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal or peripheral vascular systems of those affected by one or more chronic diseases.

Responsibilities
I am the Academic Program Director Clinical Exercise Physiology and the Clinic Director of the Health & Rehabilitation Clinic in the Department of Exercise Sciences. I am also a member of the Operational Managment Group for the University of Auckland Clinics.
