I completed my BSc in Biotechnology with distinction from the University of Pune followed by MSc in Cellular and Molecular Immunology from the University of Colombo. Currently I am enrolled as a PhD candidate in Molecular Medicine at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
Research | Current
My masters research dealt with the genetics of a rare, severe primary immunodeficiency in Sri Lanka. My current doctoral research is on the genetics of obesity and diabetes in Maori and Pacific polulations with special focus on a novel gut hormone and its receptor.
